Anytime anyone, including guests, are near your sensitive, expensive, electronics, you need them to be static aware and static safe. However, that doesn’t mean that they need a production quality static wrist band. The Limited Life Static Wrist band is a low cost disposable static wrist band that is perfect for handing out to guests, or anyone, who will be working around your electronics for a relatively short period of time.

An anti-static wristband (properly grounded) should be worn at all times when handling exposed electronics circuitry and components. By wearing this strap, any static charge built-up on the wearer will be dissipated to ground (through a protective 1 MOhm resistor). This ensures that the wearer will be at ground potential and no damage can occur to the electronics.

For optimum protection, a wrist strap should be used in conjunction with a properly grounded anti-static mat.

A Static Factoid
