The 60mm Slider Sensors is a linear position potentiometer (variable resistor). The value reported back by the Phidget Interface will directly relate to the position of the slider on the bar. This type of a sensor has a wide array of applications that include lighting controls, audio or video editing, or any kind of a situation where a control needs to be precision but fixed.
