With an I2C backpack already soldered on, this Budget LCD requires a very low pin count to use! Rather than the standard 6 pins required for basic LCD’s, I2C means that you only need to connect two wires, SDA (serial data), and SCL (serial clock) to communicate between it and your microcontroller and allows multiple LCD’s or other I2C modules to be connected on the same bus. The LCD requires 5V for power and communicates at 5V as well which makes it a perfect candidate for any 5V microcontrollers such as the Arduino.
