The FQP27P06 is a very common yet robust P-channel FET. Compatible with most 5V logic microcontrollers, it only requires a minimum gate threshold voltage (VGSth) of 4V to provide s nice 5 Amps. As you increase the gate voltage to 5V the current capability is increased to 10.5 Amps with the full current capability available at a gate voltage of >6V.
