The 1N5818T features a low voltage drop in a high current rectifier diode package. We’ve found it particularly useful for solar applications to prevent reverse current from leaking back into the cell when it gets dark.

It can handle up to 1A of current with maximum 30V reverse bias. The forward voltage drop is only 0.22V at 20mA current! Compared to the 0.77V of a typical silicon diode at the same current.
