Carbon fiber is a very strong, light material, and is a well-known method to make a matrix material much stronger. eSun has incorporated carbon fiber into this material to make it very stiff. It’s tougher to print than ABS, as it requires a printer capable of even higher temperatures and a very hot bed, but if you are requiring a strong 3D printed model, this is the material for you.

Features:

• Environmentally friendly, nylon based, 20% carbon fiber
• Prints smoothly, odourless, with a matte finish
• High strength, high rigidity, tough, wear resistant
• Lower shrink rate and distortion compared to nylon
• Good flame resistance, with flame-retardant level UL94-V2
• A stainless steel nozzle is strongly recommended. It’s a fairly abrasive filament that will wear out your nozzle.

Specifications:

• 1.75mm nominal diameter (spec’d +/- 0.05, but is in practice closer to +/- 0.03)
• 1kg spools on LARGE diameter (easy unspooling) reels, vacuum sealed with desiccant
• Suggested build parameters:
  • Print temperature 240-260 ℃
  • Base temperature: 80 °C
  • Print speed: 30-60 mm/s
  • Movement speed: 90-150 mm/s

• 85MPa Tensile Strength (vs 65MPa for PLA+)
• 16% elongation at breaking point (vs 12% for PLA+)
• 15.5 KJ/m² IZOD impact strength (vs 4 KJ/m² for PLA+)
