This is good stuff. We’ve been evaluation printing with this and it’s been very satisfactory. Yes, it comes at a premium, but balance that off against how many prints you’ve had go AWOL when you look away from it. And it’s domestically made and fresh.

Matter3D (M3D) takes the consumable nature of their products seriously. They are now moving their filament to cardboard spools, and more-easily recycled natural cardboard boxes.

M3D’s Performance PLA is a high-strength, higher (than normal PLA) temperature, and FDA approved (food and beverage use) material. It’s designed for higher-heat applications (up to 85°C) applications and often exceeds ABS’s performance. Another interesting feature of this material is heat-annealing. M3D suggests that you can improved the mechanical characteristics of a print by heating it tp 80~130°C for up to 30 minutes in either a hot-air or water bath.
