Farewell, Mr. McKee!

Dave Hrynkiw
August 4, 2005

After 5 years of employment with Solarbotics Ltd., Grant McKee has submitted his letter of resignation to Solarbotics, effective August 16th 2005.

Mr. McKee has been an invaluable resource at Solarbotics, but is off to hunker down and gather resources before making the leap to further advance his education. Although he will be greatly missed, we applaude his decision to broaden his academic horizons. He's got a brilliant mind, and will go far in any field that attracts his attention.

This brings us to the next obvious step: Finding a suitable candidate to replace Grant at Solarbotics. We are now open to receiving resumes from interested candidates who want to assume his position at Solarbotics. Do you know of somebody you think who'd like this job? Forward them the link!

The position is for Chief of Research and Development, offering access to a relatively complete suite of tools and equipment to carry out experiments, build prototypes and design robots as needed, including a Sherline CNC mill and lathe. Candidates MUST be an accomplished roboticist with a solid background in BEAM technology. The job has many facets, including assisting manufacturing, pure R&D, circuit design, prototype development, PCB design, solar cell and gear motor testing & evaluation, microcontroller programming, documentation writing, and repair work. You're not expected to know it all, as we encourage learning and doing!

Please send your resume, link to your design portfolio (or similar) and salary expectations to
us here.
