Tom from our Facebook page recently showed us his latest project, the Pingbot. In Tom’s words, it’s “a very small (38mm diameter), usb rechargeable, programmable, musical, remote control robot designed for maximum fun and danceability.” We don’t know about you, but danceability should be a priority on every robot’s feature list. To Tom’s credit, he’s put together a very comprehensive Instructable for the project. He gets in-depth with the circuit schematic (driven by a PICAXE 08M2) as well as his custom PCB layout. He even covers fabricating and painting the shell (which totally takes the robot from being awesome to even more awesome). Overall, Pingbot has it all – smart engineering, functionality, and above all, loads of character. We’re impressed.
