PICAXE-28 Project Board

The 28-pin project board is fully-assembled development board which has been designed to allow rapid prototyping with the 28-pin PICAXE microcontrollers. The board provides connections for eight digital inputs, four analog inputs and eight digital outputs. Each of the outputs is driven through a darlington driver (ULN2803A), which will drive up to 800mA per output.

Note: A 28-pin PICAXE IC is not included as there are several versions to choose from (see "Related Categories" for PICAXE ICs). You still need to have one to use this board!

Ribbon cables with connectors are also included. These allow for easy interfacing to the board. Space is provided on the board for adding a optional motor driver IC (L293D), through which DC motors can be controlled with forward/reverse directional control.

The board can be powered by a single, dual power supplies. When two power supplies are used the second separate supply (V2+) is used to power the output devices. This is useful when a higher voltage is required (e.g. when driving a 12V motor) or when it is necessary to isolate the outputs to avoid noise problems (e.g. when using servos).
