On the surface, an uneducated opinion would call "CRAFT" magazine
MAKE's annoying little sister that focuses on the "soft" arts. But that
isn't true. The magazine's byline is "Transforming
Traditional Crafts", which is a carefully thought-out phrase that
accurately describes it.
Sure, there's knitting.... but knitting "Crime Scene Scarves"? And the finer points of extracting your own Squid ink? How about the finer points of "Aerosol Artistry" (aka: Graffiti)? This is all featured in just issue 4!
You'll find a vast number of creative projects that don't need a welder (in most cases), and may appeal to the acquaintance in your life that prefers creating items based on more traditional technology.
