Return Policy

Solarbotics stands completely behind our products. This said, we do have a few minor rules regarding taking care of any returns:

Kit Support
All of our kits come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are having some troubles with your kit, we offer assistance in this order:

  1. Free-of-charge telephone support. Call us on our toll-free line for as much support as you want. If telephone support doesn’t resolve your problem…
  2. …we will gladly repair your kit for you. This means we won’t finish building it for you (hey, it’s a kit!), but we’ll repair any problems that are causing the failure. This includes parts and labour free (great policy, eh?). Call us to get an RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization), ship it back, and we’ll take care of the sick robot.
  3. If you’re simply fed-up with robotics, and want to take up carrot-juicing as a hobby, we can understand your frustration. Contact us first for a RMA, return your kit to us, and we’ll refund your purchase, minus shipping costs. Then take your refund, and buy yourself that super-deluxe carrot juicer…

Product Support
Solarbotics stands behind our product. If you find any defect with our products, or you just bought the wrong part, we would be happy to exchange it for you.

  • Solarbotics is proud to offer a 30 day money back guarantee on all of the product that we sell (See above for Kit support).
  • All products returned must be in resalable condition. Products that have been used, damaged or somehow altered will not be accepted for return and will be shipped back at the owner’s expense.
  • Solarbotics reserves the right not to accept returns after 30 days or to charge a restocking fee of 10%.
  • Please call us to arrange return shipping options and to request an RMA, we want you to be satisfied with the product you receive!

Shipping Robots for Repair / Refund
We NEED the RMA before we can accept a return or repair. It is Imperative! Important! Fundamental! Needs-to-happen! If a return shows up on our doorstep without a RMA on the box, our shipping department won’t accept it, and your robot will have another fun journey back home to you. Hey, nobody likes traveling sick, so to make sure your sick robot gets to us ok, CALL US FIRST.To arrange for return of a product, first contact technical support or phone us at 1-866-276-2687 to determine what is the best course of action. If we determine that your product should be sent back to us, place your item in sturdy packaging, and return to the address at the bottom of the page.

If you are shipping your item back from outside of Canada, we need the customs documentation labeled: ‘Items returned for Repair’ and place a cost of $5 for Declared Value.
No, we’re not trying to cheat our government out of their hard-earned tax dollars - we’ve already paid our taxes on the parts that went into your kit, and you’ve already paid your duties/taxes when it comes into your country. Returns and repairs do not need to get taxed twice!

Items not appropriately marked for customs often show up with funds owning (like Solarbotics had ordered the robot from you, and the Canadian Government wants their taxes on it), we will not accept it, and it’ll go back to you. We’re sorry - we really want to fix your robot for you, but we won’t pay undue taxes on them (we pay enough tax already!).
